Success would look like students engaged in their book group discussions, developing deeper understandings about their books and going beyond a basic summary.
I think I need to rethink how I put the partners together. I'd like to go through a process where students kind of find partners and advertise for partnerships. They're asking to read books with partners, and I want to make that happen for them.
Next steps:
-do the process to make new partnerships
-listen for good nuggets of conversations
-transcribe once per week
-model good conversations
-watch for deeper conversations.
It all sounds so simple here, but somehow it gets really hard in class.
